MONDAY Initial Strings – FIRST REHEARSAL: Monday, September 1st 2025
This ensemble is for children who learn the violin, viola, cello or double bass and have had at least one term of lessons. Pupils can remain in this group until they reach Grade 1 standard.
The ensemble will rehearse on Mondays from 1600-1700 at Muirfield Primary School. The pupils will predominantly be working through the ‘Fiddle Time Joggers’ in this ensemble so if they have a copy of this book please bring it with you.
MONDAY Bridge of Don Singers
This is a group for primary school pupils who are in P4-P7 and who attend schools in the St Machar, Bridge of Don and Oldmachar catchments. This group rehearses on a weekly basis from 1600-1645 at Scotstown Primary School. This choir is led by Miss Hamilton and Mrs Deans.
WEDNESDAY Senior Choir
The Senior Choir is for young people who attend secondary school and enjoy singing. It runs on a weekly basis at Aberdeen Grammar School on Wednesdays from1630-1745.
THURSDAY Senior Instrumental Group – FIRST REHEARSAL: Thursday, August 28th 2025
This group will meet at Muirfield Primary School from 1600-1730 on Thursdays. The group will be led by Miss Cormack and Mr Gibson. It is for children who are working at Grade 5 level or above, and we intend to support pupils in achieving their RCS Music Leaders Award (Bronze Level). https://www.rcs.ac.uk/courses/music-leaders-award/
The groups normally take a break in the Summer Term due to many of the pupils having exams. However, there may be some opportunities for standalone rehearsals and performances.
